Udaipur – 2 Day Itinerary & Places to Visit

Udaipur, an exotic city of palaces, temples, and Havelis, is counted amongst the romantic cities of the World. This dream destination located in the southernmost part of the state. Udaipur is additionally termed as “city of lakes” because it has lakes all around it.

Udaipur is famous for many reasons, and hence it attracts tourists from all over the World. You will get a glimpse of Udaipur in many Bollywood and Hollywood movies.

“The best time to go to this city is from September to March.”

Here is a short tour itinerary.

Let’s start.


On day-1, visit Lake Pichola in Udaipur.

Lake Pichola is an artificial lake situated in the heart of Udaipur. The name Pichola derived from neighborhood village picholi. Lake Pichola has restaurants, islands, palaces, temples, and ghats, which has everything for everyone.

Boat ride details

Days : Monday-Sunday

Timings : 10am -5pm

Fee : No Entry fee

Boat ride price: Rs 200 for 2-12 year

                            Rs 400 for 12 & Above

Sunset Boat rides are expensive

Boat ride price: Rs 400 for 2-12 year

                            Rs 700 for 12 & Above

Next stop Jag Mandir.

Jag Mandir is a palace for the entertainment of the guests of Udaipur. Jag Mandir named after Maharana Jagat Singh, who completed the construction of the castle. At the entrance of the island, beautifully carved elephants greet you and welcome you.

Later the City Palace.

We recommend that you visit City palace at night, view of the castle in the night is so enchanting and mesmerizing that you will fall in love. The mirror-like reflection of the mansion makes it more amazing to watch. Sisodia Rajputs built the city palace has its history.

Next visit Jagdish Temple

Jagdish Temple, formerly known as Jagannath Rai, is built according to Vastu shastra. It shows the Indo-Aryan Architectural style. This temple is 79ft tall, which adds beauty to the Udaipur skyline. Guarded by Garuda, a half-man and half eagle-like figure. Enjoy traditional dance show in the evening at Bagore ki Haveli

On the second day of the itinerary, our first stop is Lake Fatehsagar.

Lake Fatehsagar is the second largest artificial lake, and it is surrounded by Aravali hills and a Pratap memorial on the fourth side. Take a boat ride and enjoy the beauty of this location, carved marble slabs, palm trees, and gorgeous waterfall are worth watching.

Boat ride : Rs 15-30 for Indians

                    Rs 60-125 for Foreigners

Motor Boat : Adults – 200 (30 mins) 

                      Children – 100 (30 mins) 

Timings : 8 am – 4:30 pm

Next visit Garden of Maidens
Garden of Maidens is also known as Saheliyon ki Bari. As soon as you enter this garden immediately, you will notice lush green lawns, water pools, marble carved elephants, and fountains. To add more value to this garden, there is a museum which has royal household items. This lush garden is located amidst the dry land of Udaipur, which is a unique thing.

Entry fee: Rs 10 per person (Indians)
Rs 50 per person (Foreigners)

Timings: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

Next visit Maharana Pratap Memorial
This Memorial has history one should know about the great warrior Maharana Pratap Memorial. The statue of Maharana Pratap is 11 ft high and adds beauty to the skyline of this vicinity. One of the best things to witness is the light and sound show. There are paintings, historical figure portraits to explore in this Memorial. Enjoy traditional folk dance, which happens in this memorial premises.

Adult: Rs 20

Light & Sound show: Rs 35

Foreigners: 50

Days : Monday – Sunday

Timings:   9:00 AM – 6:00 PM


On day-3 of your tour, return to the airport

or railroad station for departure. If you have time,

you can visit nearby shopping outlets and know the history and culture of Udaipur. Visit art galleries like Arts and Frames. 

How to reach Udaipur

Udaipur can be reached by air, train, or bus.

Udaipur has a domestic airport called Dabok airport, which is 22 Km far from the town center. Jaipur has an International airport. Udaipur is well connected by bus and train to the most prominent cities in India.
